We didn’t know what it was either! Turns out Bak Kwa (pronounced: buck k’wah) is a salty and sweet dried meat, similar to jerky but prepared slightly differently. It’s a Southeast Asian street snack originating from Singapore and Malaysia.

Rich in protein, packed with flavor & low in sodium, these bak kwa make a pretty tasty snack. It’s a little softer than jerky, very moist and incredibly flavorful. They use all natural, sustainable ingredients. Made in Sunnyvale, California, this product caught our eye at the Fancy Foods Show in New York, with it’s cute packaging and amazing flavor.

We currently carry 3 varieties:

Spicy Chipotle Beef – angus beef seasoned with smoky chipotle, chili, brown sugar and fish sauce. Flavor explosion and a great source of protein on the go.

Pork Bak Kwa – delicious pork seasoned with sweet rice wine, soy, fish sauce and a lovely smokiness

Hickory Smoked Uncured Spicy Candied Bacon – this particular flavor won a Sofi Award for “Best Savory Snack” from the Specialty Food Association. It’s seasoned in chili and brown sugar, making it sweet and spicy at the same time.
