It’s almost Easter and we all know what that means – family gatherings, lots of colorful candy and of course, roast lamb with mint jelly. This year, skip the neon green, store bought jelly and come down to Southport Grocery to grab a jar of our house made, all natural mint jelly. Made in our upstairs kitchen using a simple list of ingredients: local apples, water, organic cane sugar, fresh local mint, apple cider vinegar and kosher salt. No artificial colors or flavors used here! The biggest difference is that we use fresh mint, grown right here behind the grocery, giving the jelly a bright, sweet flavor.
Here’s another fun use for your jelly, once Easter has come and gone. A simple cocktail recipe to enjoy:
Mint Mule
1/4oz lime juice
2 teaspoons Southport Grocery Mint Jelly
1 1/2 shots gin
Ginger ale to taste
Shake ingredients together with ice. Pour into a glass and top with ginger ale
4oz jar is $5.95
