- Comments Off on Farm in Focus: Lange’s Farm
Lange’s have been farming in Elwood, Illinois since 1993. They run their family owned and operated farm with over 40 years experience under their belt, having previously owned land in Symerton, IL. Today their land amounts to about 30 acres, where they grow a huge range of fruit and veggies, many of which we use here at Southport Grocery & Cafe.
Luckily for us, Lange’s Farm come to the Lincoln Square Farmer’s Market every Tuesday morning throughout the Summer months, so it’s easy for us to get our local produce fix. We just purchased almost 100lbs of green tomatoes from them to make our Pickled Green Tomatoes. We also use their cherry tomatoes in our salads, their dill in our Dilly Beans, and much more!
If you’re interested in buying their produce for home use, Lange’s have their own CSA program which you can read more about here.
