- Comments Off on Sfoglini – Brooklyn based small batch pasta
Brooklyn based Sfoglini have been creating small batch, artisan pasta since 2012. Since then, they’ve been perfecting their art and getting more and more creative with what ingredients they use. We love how they incorporate seasonal ingredients into their pasta, locking in that great flavor to be enjoyed later, much like what we do with our preserves. Using fresh ingredients like nettles, mushrooms, beets and basil, they create great tasting pasta that comes in many colors of the rainbow! They are air dried slowly at a low temperature to ensure maximum flavor.
Sfoglini have even been listed as one of Oprah’s “favorite things.” As Oprah said, “What could be better than being in the pasta-of-the-month club?” We totally agree – putting that on our list of gift ideas pronto!
Try these 3 great pasta varieties now:
Porcini Trumpets
Spaccatelli
Nettle Radiators
Each pasta is made using real, simple ingredients – for example, the Nettle Radiators are just organic semolina flour, nettles and water. No artificial additives or preservatives – just real ingredients that you know how to pronounce! The pasta is produced on special bronze equipment which gives it a textured, porous surface, perfect for sauces to cling to. Check out this amazing slowed down video of their pasta being cut.
