These burgers are easy to put together but will make any get-together a lot more delicious! Perfect for game night or Summer BBQs.
serves 3
burger components:
1 lb ground turkey
1 tablespoon Southport Grocery Pepper Jelly
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
2 tablespoons dried sage
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
3 challah buns
3 slices muenster or pepper jack cheese
handful arugula
all purpose flour
sauce:
½ cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons Southport Grocery Pepper Jelly
1 teaspoon dijon mustard
pinch kosher salt
freshly ground black pepper, to taste
In a small bowl, mix together all of the sauce ingredients.
In a medium bowl, mix together turkey, pepper jelly, garlic, sage, salt and pepper until well incorporated. Divide the turkey mixture into thirds; press into ½ inch thick patties. Lightly dust both sides with flour.
Sprinkle a light coating of salt into a skillet. Heat the skillet over medium low heat. Place patties into the skillet. Depending on the thickness, cook 3-5 minutes; once edges are cooked, flip over and cook another 3-5 minutes. Place a slice of cheese on top of each patty; cover until cheese melts. Remove from the skillet and place patty onto challah bun base. Place 2 tablespoons of the pepper jelly sauce on each patty, then top with arugula and the bun top.
