Southport Grocery’s Granola Bar Recipe

Granola BarMakes 9″ x 13″  pan

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup agave nectar
8 ounces (2 sitcks) butter
3/4 cup peanut butter
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 1/2 cups oatmeal – quick cook
1 cup oatmeal – rolled, old fashion
3/4 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup coconut
1/2 cup wheat germ
3/4 cup white chocolate, chopped

Preheat oven to 325. Grease the bottom of your 9×13 pan with butter or spray with non-stick spray.  In a large pot, combine brown sugar, agave nectar, butter, peanut butter & vanilla extract.  Heat over low flame until combined & smooth.  Add oatmeals, sunflower seeds, coconut & wheat germ. Once the mix is cooled a bit fold in the white chocolate chunks.  Spread the mix on the greased pan. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Let them cool to set up, then slice & enjoy.

    You all are so generous to share this! My kids love these bars. I’ve tried to reverse engineer the recipe but haven’t been able to get them as delicious as yours. Thank you!!! We are eager for a summer snack bar and this one will do it. The peanut butter and oats are a perfect protein/carb combo to keep us going. BUT – we will stop by soon because we love the rest of your menu too. Thank you!!!!

    Your granola bars are my favorite – so excited to find this recipe. Just tried to make them and I could not get them to set properly – I even cooked them an extra 20 minutes. They set on the edges but the as you moved toward the middle a spoon would be needed. I followed the recipe to a tee – any advice on to what I did wrong? Please!
